it does what it promises and im grateful for that. but i wish you could change or take off the ignature that says “sent free from textnow"

it’s great that this application was created it allows me to answer texts on my Macs when I’m work rather that going to my phone… Simple and effective!

This app is really great; I love how I can answer texts right from my Mac. However, recently I’ve been experiencing some problems whereby it keeps crashing!! Whenever I open it it shuts down and I have to reopen it. Please fix this soon!!

I have tried a few texting apps for Mac & most of them were a drag: hidden fees etc. This one was actually great, in the beginning. Synched well with iPad & only very minor issue (would not recognize some people in my address book as having a phone number, even though the number was there - no amoutn of adding / removing, quitting / restarting etc. would resolve the issue). I contacted their customer support by email but never hear back. Can’t really complain: its a free app. They don’t owe me anything. But I think I’d prefer they didn’t even pretend to offer service than fail to follow up. Anyhow, in the last weeks it’s just stopped working. Crashes *all* the time on El Capitain and simply doesn’t show messages started to new numbers, making it effectively useless, unfortunately. The address book issue was enough of a drag, at this point I’m just going to delete the app and look for something else; but I’ll definitely keep an eye out to see if they update it to resolve the bugs.

Very good! I like it! Except that if you set the banners as an alert. You lose the content. So you’ll see the first words in the notification and then in the app : nothing. A bug to be fixed!

Wont let me sign up for an account, gave it 3 stars because I fell off my chair laughing, ERROR (PERMISSION DENIED) over and over and with restarts, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! sic!

I downloaded the app and I couldnt even sign up for an account, only message i got was permission denied - null -null

I know its free and it comes with advertisements in Safari. But when I mute the speaker or turn down the volume, it wont let me. Had to removed link and the app from my system and I am now using Skype!

this a great app but unfurtuanlly theres a lot of people out there that are using this app for bad porpuses. like stalking!! this is a major issue i have being harrassed by this people for about 3 years now . theres has being police reports about this but police can’t really do anything since this phone numbers are untrackable… please help! ivw blocked about 200 diferent numbers and some emails but doesnt do anything becus they will create a new numbers.

I think this app is wonderful! You can text and make phone calls (with your own phone number) and best of all, it’s free!!! I use it all the time and it hasnt let me down yet. Highly recommend, especially if you only have an iPod that does not have the ability to make a phone call. Great app, thumbs up!!!

TextNow works literally on every platform; I use it on my tablet, phone , mac, web!!! I just login in from where ever and have all my messages there and waiting for me! Super convenient especially when one of my device saddly die on me lol

i try to type a number in the send to box and then i type out my message but then when i go to the send button it stays grey and wont let me send a message

i bet this is a really awesome app, seeing all the reviews it has very good reviews but I’ve even typed in all random words and i cant get a username, like is h31l0MyN8m3 really taken? seriously i really would like an account but it wont let me have a username! I think it should give ideas for untaken usernames so that people like me could actually get a chance to use it. Other than that i think its a very good and well set-up app. I just really wish i could figure out a username

I have the same problem with not being able to text anyone. I will put in a number, type something up, and it won’t let me send it.

First off, I’m not saying this app is bad, because it’s not, it’s a great app, I love TextNow’s free texting service. However, I just thought Id let you know of an issue with your TextNow application for Mac, using OS X El Capitan. With OS X Yosemite, TextNow worked just fine, but since I started using the beta of OS X El Capitan, when I open the app, sometimes, it crashes on launch. If I reopen, it launches fine, but I cannot put TextNow into full screen mode anymore, or it crashes every time. This all occurred with TextNow for Mac v1.1.3. I love your app, but Im just letting you know of the issue. Also, TextNow for Mac is missing a few important things... Like calling. My Mac has a mic, and speakers, it needs calling. Also, its missing the ability to edit the name of your contacts of people you are texting. One of the people I am texting, I accidentally set it as the wrong name, of someone else, and now I cant change it. Also, when someone texts you, and you get the notification in the Mac Notification center, you should make it where you can reply straight from the notification, without having to open the app. Also, in your iOS version of TextNow, you should do the same…make it to where you can reply to a text straight from the notification, without having to load up the app. Please fix the issues soon, though Thanks in advance! Here’s some info on my Mac and OS in case this helps at all: Model: MacBook 7,1 (Mid-2010 13’3” White Unibody) CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 @ 2.4 GHz RAM: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 (2 x 2 GB) OS: Mac OS X El Capitan (Public Beta 15B22c) Once again, these issues weren’t occuring at all in OS X Yosemite until I first updated to an OS X El Capitan public beta about a month before the public main El Capitan release. I’m just letting you know so it can be fixed. Other than these minor issues, I can still use TextNow for Mac as intended. Thanks! —> I forgot to mention, that today (Wednesday, October 7th, 2015), I tried to log in to my TextNow account on your website, and when I would enter my username and password (which are correct, I checked) it doesn’t do anything when I click "Sign In” or “Log In” or anything. Doesn’t tell me I’m wrong, doesn’t ay error, it doesn’t do anything. Click anything else on the site, it responds and loads something, but if you clicked log in or sign in after inputting your login username/password, and it wouldn;t do a thing. It was like clicking a useless button. I tried quitting Safari, and restarting, tried refreshing a few times. I even tried typing in another password of mide I knew was wrong, and nothing happened. Never said error, or wrong, nothing would happen. Please fix that. —> Update: Immediately after adding the problems with the website, I tried the site again, and it finally worked with the login. Right after saying there was an issue, the website let me in.

I have tried several times to remove the signature from my texts and…NOTHING. It’s annoying.
