Does not work, not to mention these days Apple doesn’t verify that apps are safe from malware or other spying programs, etiher from the NSA or China. Uninstalled it 3 minutes later.

ever since updating to el capitan it crashes CONSTANTLY. I cant figure out a pattern but every time I use it, it crashes multiple times.

Keeps crashing with the new mac update.

I enjoy TextNow as a service, I use them as my cell phone carrier. But this Mac App crashes almost every time I open it. I believe it started when I updated to El Capitan, but I can’t be sure. I hope they get this fixed soon.

When attempting to login to the app on my mac my username is not deemed valid but when logging on through a web browser it’s perfectly fine. I’d use the browser but being that I’m currently located in China I can’t use the captcha to validate my account. So there’s no way for me to access my messages although I still get notifications when I get a new message……complete B.S.

Just crashes when you attempt to log in. This app hasn’t been updated since June 2015 so maybe an update will eventually come along to fix this.

For the most part, I love the app. I use it soley on my MacBook and its great. I love that its TRULY free and its layout is super clean. That being said - when you send a picture through the Mac app, it sends as a link..? It seems kind of strange to me. But even that is better than trying to send videos — because sending videos ISNT POSSIBLE. Literally. You cant send a video on the TextNow App for Mac. If you can send a picture, even if its a super weird link format, you would think you could send a video .. nope. Like I said, I love the app for the most part. But when you make a new update (which is soon, I hope) please add in a video option and maybe a better formatted image sending system!

every time I try to make an account, I type anything, even random stuff and it says Username in use no matter what hopefully they fix it but for now don’t waste your time

My phone recently broke so I found this app that I can use on my mac in the meantime. After downloading it, I began texting people. I noticed people were taking hours or even days to respond. I knew something was wrong. I later realized that people recieve my texts and they respond but the app doesn’t load their message through unless I log out of my account and log back in. I have been having to log in and out of this app so many times its ridiculous. idk if i am doing something wrong, maybe its just my computer.. idk but i definitely need to find a new texting app.

This app is good. Simplistic but good. I do wish you had some of the same options you have on the iPad app, such as backgrounds and sounds. It’s a great way to keep in touch when you DON’T have (or need) a smart phone. The audio is crap on both the Mac app and the iPad app. But all I want it for is texting, so it works for me. UPDATE: the desktop app is no longer receiving messages. I can see them come in on my iPad, but they don’t show up on my iMac until I have logged out and back in. I sure hope they fix this because I absolutely love this application on my iPad!

I use textnow all the time lately I sit at my desk a lot more and the desktop apps are much more beneficial, I hardly use my iphone now. However this app is a severe letdown and I expected better from text now. I will change my review as it get better but for now the viber app and pinger app is much better. I can’t even delete a conversation
